Bird In The Attic

So we were in the studio working with David Orlando a.k.a Boss Harmony (Dub Club, Punky Reggae Party, PTP) recording our new track "Bird In The Attic." It's almost done and will be up on our myspace soon!

This our first real structured song except for "Spy vs. Spy" that Sara and I wrote together. Everything else consist of loops we made on my boss loop pedal. "Bird In The Attic" was made on the new Kaoss pad which is sickkk, a Roland R3 synth and of course my guitar.

"Bird in the Attic" was written one day in my garage when a bird flew in. We tried to get it out, but it chilled and listened to our music.
We were like "cool!" I started to play on Sara's synth and that's when I came up with the sounds and chord structure. Slowly we started to develope the song and we wrote lyrics about the bird chillin in my garage. We used 'attic' instead of 'garage' because we thought that sounded cooler. Anyway, 2 weeks later, we perfected the song and were practicing before our show at The Smell 9/20/07. As we were finishing up, and getting ready for the gig, Sara looked down at my carpet in the garage saw that the bird was DEAD!!! Then we were like "fuck!" We thought it had flown out sometime within those 2 weeks, but instead it died in my garage! So sad... Sara sang the lyrics as we buried it and the lyrics sooo reflected the moment. Sara then proceeded to have an anxiety attack. We went to our show, and the rest is history.
So that's the story behind "Bird In The Attic".
The end.
